History - the Company

Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill met back in 1989 while performing independently on the standup comedy circuit. Their most popular writing credit to date is Still Game.

In 1997 the first script about pensioners Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade was written and called Still Game. The characters were based on Ford's uncle and Greg's grandfather, the script also featured Paul Riley as Winston. Still Game the live show toured all over Scotland, Ireland and Canada and received rave reviews.

The characters first appeared in the television sketch show Chewin' the Fat and along with sketches the characters also sang 30 second songs performed by Ford (Jack) Greg (Victor) Paul Riley (Winston) and Mark Cox (Tam).

In 2002 the characters moved to their own programme, Still Game, the show has been a huge success for the BBC. Ford and Greg have written just over 40 episodes during the 6 series since 2002.
